I ran over at 8 to do sign them up
for the Volcano experiment after dinner and then went to go get coffee for us. By
the time I got back to the room and got the kids up and ready it was nearly 9
and they wanted to head to the pool right away.
For the next 3 hours they alternated playing in the pool and doing the
lazy river (which we joined them a cpl times for). Otherwise I sat and read (and ate a Mickey
bar for breakfast:)
Around noon we decided to go in for a bit- the kids were wilting a bit in the heat (and so was I!). We went up to go get dried off and then decided to go into town a bit to get some lunch.
We got the car from valet and then drove the 8 minutes to the closest shopping center. The kids got McDonalds and Matt and I got takeout sushi from a little place. It was pretty good considering it was just a strip mall place. We took the food back to the room to eat and the kids played their DS for awhile to wind down a little. I also took this time to run down to the family lounge and print boarding passes for tomorrow. So sad to think we were leaving!
After awhile we decided to go and
play the Menehune game for a bit. This
time Aidan and I joined up while P and Matt played as a team. We lasted about 20 minutes before the heat
started getting to us. It was def the
hottest day so far on our trip!
Matt
returned the games to the community hall and hung our there with the kids while
I ran up to get our books. I met them
back in the hall and we all just sat for an hour in the air conditioned
quiet. Aidan played wii for awhile and P
colored (they have markers and coloring sheets in the cupboards there). Matt
and I read our books. It was nice:)
After our early dinner we walked
back to the hotel and grabbed our nice camera to take some pics of the resort
and then took a walk to the beach where we saw the seal swimming once. We got so lucky- there was one on the
rocks! They had little signs up and a
cpl volunteers out answering questions about him. We ran back to get the kids and P was so
excited to finally see a monk seal! We
learned that his name was Benny and he was an aggressive adolescent male. Piper also told the volunteer all about her
stuffed monk seal we got her (that she named Spotty Lovey Jr McMonkseal) . It was a great way to end the evening!
The kids and Matt then went down
the water slides a cpl more times before they closed at 8 and then alternated between
the pool and hot tub. I sat back and
talked a bunch with this lady who was on holiday from Australia. I love meeting people on trips!
While Matt did that, I took the kids to go get treats from the ice cream case in the gift shop and P got one last souvenir (she finally got a Duffy Bear- it’s a Disney exclusive build a bear of sorts and you can get dif outfits at the parks and resorts). The kids got settled into bed, started watching a movie and then fell asleep within 5 minutes. They were wiped!
