Hawaii - Day 5 - Tuesday!

This morning was yet again another early morning.  I was up at 5:00 but laid there until about 5:40 when I took a shower.  I thought about going to the gym but it seemed really awful today lol.  The kids were both up when I got out of the shower so they came with me during my normal coffee run so they could look at the koi pond a bit while I ordered.
We woke Matt up when we got back upstairs and he got ready while I tidied a bit and we all had breakfast.  By that point it was almost 8 o’clock and I remembered that the kids club opened at 8 for the special registration (you don’t have to sign them up for the normal free play, but if there is a special activity with limited space then you have to do it that morning).  I sent Matt down to hold a place in line (only one person has to sign up multiple kids)  and the kids and I got all our beach stuff ready.  We walked out the door at 7:58 and went down to see Matt.  He was about 6th in line (doors weren’t open yet) so I knew the kids would be able to get in.  We got them signed up for Stitch’s Space Goo for later that day and then we walked to the Community Hall to all sign up for the family animation class even later in the day:)

Then, it was off to the beach!  It was already HOT and sunny out and it was just barely after 8:00.  We found chairs by the water and the kids played in the water with Matt and built sand castles.

We weren’t down there for too long before they just wanted to go in the normal pool.  We went up and found chairs there also and the kids swam off and on for maybe another hour.  We did run into a total jerk of a guy who claimed we took their seat (there was NOTHING) on the seats we took.  It was obnoxious and we finally stopped arguing with the guy and just left.  Matt felt like we let him win but it just wasn’t worth it…
By then it was about 10 so and we needed to take our beach stuff back up to the room real quick and get another camera.  Matt and P were going into Rainbow Reef, the snorkeling lagoon that Disney created.  They wanted the underwater camera so I wanted our DSLR to take pics of them while they did it:)  Aidan was a little hesitant so he just wanted to watch.

They snorkeled for almost an hour (P really wasn’t used to not being able to kick her legs and also wasn’t used to the freezing water).  They got out and we all went up to change clothes.  The kids headed to the clubs for lunch and then the Stitch Space Goo program we had signed them up for earlier.  They loved it!  And I am so glad photopass people are in the clubs- we get to see all the pics of their activities!

while Matt and I had a mid-day date. We headed to Off the Hook (our poolside bar we have come to know VERY well) and I ordered a Ginger Lemonade (got a pic this time!) and also a Eco Tini (super yummy- and it comes with a bracelet!).

Then we headed off to our noon lunch reservations at Ama Ama.  I ordered a Kona Red Lemon Drop (I think my 2nd fav drink here).

We shared the Nori wrapped Ahi in tempura for appetizers and couldn’t have been happier.  So good!

We both had the tacos for entrees and they were the best so far this trip:)

I had the pineapple crème brulee on a pastry puff and Matt had the banana caramel bread pudding. The Both were unexpected and very good!

After lunch we decided to take a walk to burn off some of the calories from alcohol (if that was possible) and head down to the secret beach to check for turtles and seals.  We ventured pretty far out and saw a lot of fish and what we thought might have been a turtle but we turned around  because we wanted to bring the kids.  When walking back we were SO lucky and came across a monk seal playing right ion the shore!  He was so close- it was amazing!  We didn’t tell Piper though because she wouldn’t been so upset she didn’t see him.

We picked up the kids from the clubs and then took the kids on a walk as soon as we got them , hoping to see the seal again (we didn’t) but we did see some fish.  The walk was a little much for P though and she got a little freaked so we headed back.  Aidan and I took our pic with a photopass girl on the way!

We laid around for 45 minutes or so and then headed down to the Disney animation class.  It was fun!  They first taught you how to draw Mickey and then we painted a clear animation cell :)

After that the kids wanted to do the lazy river and we didn’t so we got a chair and let the kids do it a few times while we watched them go by.  Thank god for the most insane number of lifeguards I have ever seen at any resort!  I had a Lilikoi Lada (like a lava flow but better) while we waited.

Then it was dinner time!  We did frozen pizza so nothing fancy.  While it was cooking Matt and  P went to see a few characters and got their pics taken.

We all ate and then the we talked about our nighttime plans.  We had hoped to do the Starlit Hui (their mini luau) but it didn’t start till 8:00 and the kids were already tired and it wasn’t even 7.  We did take them down to swim a bit though.

We then brought them back to the room for a Mickey Bar (yes, they are here!) . Piper claimed she wasn’t tired and then 5 minutes later we get this:

Oh and want to know something weird?  See me in that pic?  Yeah..I'm writing todays blog in that- THESE  VERY WORDS lol.
Bedtime!  Tomorrow is our last day here before we leave to the rental house on the North Shore.  I will miss the resort so much!
